EnBeamC is a state-of-the-art program for the design and analysis of
precast, prestressed concrete bridges girders made continuous by adding
a composite slab with a diaphragm over the bridge piers. EnBeamC
conforms to the '97 AASHTO Standard Specifications for Bridges.

Dead and live loads are analyzed automatically. A simple-span analysis
is done for dead loads on the precast section, and a continuous-span
analysis is done for dead and live loads applied on the composite
structure. A live-load generator cretaes +/- moment and shear envelopes
based on AASHTO, AREA Coopers E Railroad Loading, or user defined
loadings. Restraining moments are automatically calculated, or may be
specified by the user.

Prestressing requirements are determined after calculating loads and
stresses. EnBeamC checks release and service-load stresses as well as
ultimate strength and cracking moment. A detailed shear steel design is
performed, and camber and deflections are calculated at 3 stages. In
addition to the beam, EnBeamC will design the negative and positive
moment stell at the piers. EnBeamC can operate in Design or Analysis
modes.

In Design Mode, EnBeamC will generate an optimized beam design which
includes least number of strands, and least draping or debonding. This
process is automatic, but users choose the controlling parameters.
DEbonding and draping parameters are available, as well as allowable
stress coefficients, strand types, and many other parameters. Once the
design is complete, EnBeamC runs through its own Analysis Mode as a
final check.

In Analysis Mode, the user inputs a beam design with strand pattern and
EnBeamC analyzes it under loads. This is useful in checking existing
beams or it can be used for designing beams by iteration.

A single, user-friendly interface written for the Windows environment
is provided for the preparation of input, analytical run, observation
of data contained in the output pile, and graphical output of moments,
shear and stresses.
